2019 was a rather slow year for automakers and they certainly hope that 2020 would be a much better year for them in terms of sales. With the biannual Auto Expo in February 2020, there are a slew of launches being lined up for the year.
1. Tata Altroz
Tata will finally be launching its premium hatchback based on the Tata 45X concept, first showcased at the Auto Expo 2018, the Tata Altroz. The homegrown automaker will be competing with the Maruti Baleno and Hyundai i20 with the Altroz. The Altroz will be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine mated to a 5 speed manual transmission at launch, followed by automatic gearbox option to come later in the year. The Tata Altroz has follows the Tata Impact 2.0 design philosophy with an eye-catching design with incredible road presence.
The price of the Altroz variants is expected to be between 6lakh to 9 lakhs.

2. Hyundai Aura
Hyundai will start the year by launching the Hyundai Aura, a premium compact sedan, set to compete with the likes of the Maruti Dzire and Honda Amaze. According to Hyundai, the Aura will be offered with multiple engine choices. A 1-litre, turbo petrol, that will give out 100PS of power and 172 Nm of torque mated to a five-speed manual transmission, a 1.2-litre petrol with manual or AMT transmission and 1.2 litre diesel with a five-speed manual or AMT gearbox.
The price of the Hyundai Aura is expected to be between Rs 6 lakh and 10 lakhs.

3. Kia Carnival
Kia Motors had a successful kickstart into the Indian market with the Kia Seltos and it quickly became the 6th best selling car in India by outselling the Maruti Vitara Brezza. The Grand Carnival is the second product under consideration for the Indian market. The company had initially planned to launch a new car in India every six-nine months, and the Carnival is expected to be launched in the first half of 2020. The Carnival is available in seven, eight and eleven seater combinations in the global market, and the India version is expected to be powered by a 2.2-litre CRDi diesel motor and will be mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
The price of the Kia Carnival is expected to be competitive between 15 lakh and 20 lakh.
4. Hyundai Creta 2020 (Facelift)
The Hyundai Creta has had a fantastic run and is still the best selling model in its segment but is facing stiff competition from the more stylish and feature-packed MG Hector and Kia Seltos. To counter this threat, Hyundai is expected to be launching its 2020 Creta facelift at the Auto Expo 2020. The vehicle has been spied multiple times in disguise and is expected to be bolder than ever with a new front grille, headlight, taillight, and new alloy wheels.
The price of the Hyundai Creta is expected to be a tad bit higher than the outgoing model at around 10 lakh to 16 lakh.
