Fast forward to 14th January 2020, the Bajaj Electric Chetak is officially launched and ready to Electrify India.

The Chetak will come with an extensive list of premium features such as illuminated switch gears with feather touch, a digital instrument console, keyless ignition, satin chrome bezels, stylish sequential rear LED blinkers, horseshoe style LED headlamp, glovebox and more.
On the technical side, the Bajaj Chetak Electric comes with a 4 KW motor that delivers 16Nm of torque from the word go with a 3KwH Lithium-ion battery pack powering the motor. The motor and battery are IP 67 rated, which means that they are completely waterproof. The charge time on the scooter is about 5 hours from 0-100% and 0-25% in 1-hour fast charge. The whole scooter is made from metal and provides a claimed range of 95+ kilometers on a single charge and comes bundled with a stylish home charger that is inspired by the side engine panels of the old Chetak.
The Chetak will offer 2 ride modes, Eco and Sport where the mileage on sport is likely to be lower than 85 km. The Chetak will also have regenerative braking as well as mobility solutions such as data communication, security, and user authentication, charge status and others via a mobile app. It also comes with a reverse gear to make parking easy.
In terms of warranty and after-sales service, The Chetak Electric comes with a warranty of 3years or 50,000km and service once a year or after 12,000 km, and Bajaj will provide 3 free services for the vehicle. The Chetak also comes with a new in-store digital assistant, where customers can point an iPad to any part of the scooter and a product explanation will be delivered.
The Bajaj Chetak will come in two variants, Premium and Urbane and will be available at their Experience Center in Pune and select KTM dealers in Pune and Bengaluru and is priced ex-showroom at Rs. 1 lakh for the Urbane which comes with drum brakes, and Rs. 1.15 lakh for the Premium which comes with disc brakes.
